Fall Fashion Trends 2019
Fall Fashion Trends 2019
Fashion has always been something I enjoyed following. Over
the years, I have learned how to play into trends with the clothes I had.
Growing up we didn’t have a lot of extra money, a lot of my clothes were
hand-me-downs. When our mom would bring home bags of clothes from other
friends, I was so excited to see what treasures I might find. By growing
up not being able to purchase all the clothing I wanted, I learned that clothes
were what you made them. I have altered clothes to make them work with fashion
trends and I have kept clothes for far too long because I knew they would come
back in style.
While I am a firm believer that t-shirts have their place,
clothes are supposed to be an expression of one’s self. These Fall Trends for
2019, are what I predict to see in street style, and some I will be getting
myself. Take the parts of the Fall Trends for 2019 that you enjoy and play them
up. If a trend doesn’t express who you are, don’t follow the trend. Be inspired
by Fashion Trends. I think Gianni Versace said it best:
1. 70’s
Inspired Looks
In this fall season, we will see a lot of repeats
from the 1970s. We already saw wavy bangs, parted down the middle take a small
come back. I see that making a bigger splash in the fall season for 2019
hairstyles. It’s the carefree and flow of the 1970’s look that really
attracted me. I love the faded jewel color tones they used.
2. Cowboy
Aesthetic
We’re talking, leather, scarves, cow print,
lace, jean jackets, and snake print. The cowboy aesthetic element of the fall trend
for 2019 gives the outfits mixed textures. I’m excited to see neck scarves stay
for the fall 2019 fashion season. If you have liked the fedora hat look from
past seasons, this year might be your year to try it. I personally love the
wide brim fedoras. Keep in mind, that the cowboy aesthetics are not trying to
make us look like Client Eastwood, but instead, we need to bring small elements
of this look into our fall outfits to add texture.
3. Ruffles
Dresses with ruffles, skirts with ruffles,
shirts with ruffles. Ruffles bring a nice soft flow to an outfit. Say you have
a black denim skirt, pair it with some knee-high boots and a ruffled top to
create interest. Let your inner flower kid roam. Baggy and flow are two
different elements, you can have a shirt that fights well but yet seems to flow
off your body. The 80’s grunge look was more about the baggy look.
4. Jewel
Tones Color Palette
Now, this is a color palette I am all for. Fall fashion
color palettes are my favorite palettes. Jewel tones still allow you to mix nudes and
light pinks as neutrals into your outfit. Jewel tones for this fall’s fashion trends will
mostly be seen as emerald green, topaz, citrine, onyx, ruby, amethyst, and pearl.
5. Plaid
Flannel plaid is on the outs, but small
plaid prints are still in the for-running. Instead of seeing plaid on flannel
shirts, you’ll see more plaid pants, scarves, hair accessories, and shoes.
Plaid is such an iconic look for fall, you can’t not have some plaid in your
fall wardrobe.
6. Hair Accessories
This trend, actually surprises me, in spring
fashion 2019 we saw pearl hair clips being brought back. For fall, these pearl
hair clips have not gone away. So if you had not gotten on the bandwagon from spring’s
trends & you were slightly interested, now is the time to join. These pearl clips can be used in a lot of fun ways.
7. Chunky Heels
With 70’s silhouettes being the inspiration
for fall fashion trends in 2019, it only makes sense that chunky heels would be
on the list. Bring on the wedges and the boots with the heels. Platform shoes
and wedged heels are going to be seen more than uncomfortable high heels.
